Misty studied Journalism at West Virginia University and has worked in the news/editorial
field as a writer and photojournalist since 2003. She was self-employed as a freelance writer and photographer, working for
newspapers and magazines before taking a leap of faith and making the transition to full-time photography- her true passion.
She specializes in portraits and children’s photography. Her off-the-cuff style is intimate, candid and magically
captures her child subjects in genuine and whimsical moments of joy, wonder and innocence. Whether children or adults, she
likes to make the shoot an experience for her clients. The most common compliment she receives from parents of the children
she photographs is how much fun the child had and how much that child liked her- that means just as much to her as the beautiful
images she captures, living the life she loves that others happen to call “work”.
